Review Workstation Requirements

Ensure your system is compliant with the ConnectWise Manage Requirements. For more information, refer to ConnectWise.com/Requirements.

Review Supported Versions

Ensure you are using approved server, browser, workstation and applications for your specific version of ConnectWise Manage. For more information, refer to ConnectWise.com/SupportedVersions.

Enable ClearType Text

  1. Navigate to Start > Control Panel.
  2. Search for Display in the Search Control Panel field.
  3. Select the main Display option.
  4. Select Adjust ClearType text from the menu on the left.
  5. Enable the Turn on ClearType option, then click Next.
  6. Complete the tuning options.
  7. Click Finish.

Review Browser Settings

The ConnectWise Manage Internet Client uses Internet Option settings found in your workstation's Control Panel and in Internet Explorer. Even if you do not use Internet Explorer, or the browser version of ConnectWise Manage, these settings are applicable if you are using the Internet Client.

Adjust the Language and Region Settings - Date/Format

  1. Open Google Chrome and click the Customize and Control Google Chrome (hamburger) icon.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Click the Show advance settings option.
  4. Scroll down to Languages and select Language and input settings.
  5. Click Add and select your language and country region.
    Note: Make sure to set your updated language above the current one.
  6. Click Done.

Adjust the Workstation Virus Protection - Exclusions

Running virus protection at the local workstation level can slow down your system if files are needlessly scanned. We encourage you to exclude the following paths, directories, and all subdirectories.

  • C:\Users\(YourUserName)\AppData\Roaming\ConnectWise
  • C:\Program Files\ConnectWise

Log In to the Web Version of ConnectWise Manage

Open a Chrome browser window and enter your ConnectWise Manage URL in the address bar. In the log in screen, enter your credentials to access ConnectWise Manage.

Adjust the Language and Region Settings - Date/Format

  1. Open Firefox and navigate to Menu (hamburger menu) > Options.
  2. Select Content from the menu on the right. Then, in the Languages section, select Choose.
  3. Select your language and country region from the drop down.
    Note: Make sure to set your updated language above the current one.
  4. Click OK.

Adjust Header and Footer Print Settings

  1. Open Firefox and navigate to Menu (hamburger menu) > Print.
  2. Click the Page Setup icon, then drill into the Margins & Header/Footer tab.
  3. In the Headers & Footers section, set the values to --blank--.
  4. Click OK.

Set your ConnectWise Manage URL as a Trusted Site

  1. Open Firefox and navigate to Menu (hamburger menu) > Options.
  2. Select Content from the menu on the right. Then, in the Pop-ups section, select Exceptions.
  3. Enter your ConnectWise Manage URL in the Address of website field.
  4. Click Save Changes.

Configure Print Settings for Headers and Footers

  1. Open Internet Explorer and click on the Tools (gear) icon in the top right corner.
  2. Select Print > Page setup.
  3. Select the Print Background Colors and Images. check box.
  4. In the Header and Footer drop downs, select -Empty-
  5. Click OK.

Set your ConnectWise Manage URL as a Trusted Site

  1. Open Internet Explorer and click on the Tools (gear) icon in the top right corner.
  2. Select Internet options.
  3. Drill into the Security tab.
  4. Click the Trusted sites zone, then click the Sites icon.
  5. In the Trusted Sites pop-up window, deselect the Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone check box.
  6. In the Add this website to the zone field, enter your ConnectWise Manage URL, then click Add.
  7. Click Close.
  8. In the Security level for this zone section, click on the Custom level icon.
  9. In the Security Settings - Trusted Sites Zone pop-up dialog, scroll down to the Miscellaneous section and set the following items to Disable:
    • Use Pop-up blocker
    • Use SmartScreen filter
  10. Scroll down to the Scripting section and set the Enable XSS Filter to Disable.
  11. Click OK. This will return you to the Internet Options window.

Update Browsing History Settings

  1. Open Internet Explorer and click on the Tools (gear) icon in the top right corner.
  2. Select Internet options.
  3. Drill into the General tab.
  4. Deselect the Delete Browsing History on Exit check box.
  5. The Delete Browsing History pop-up window will display.
  6. Deselect the Preserve Favorites website data check box.
  7. Select the following check boxes:
    • Temporary Internet Files and website files
    • Cookies and website data
    • History
  8. Click Delete when finished. This will return you to the Internet Options window.
